Steps for achieving ISO 9001 certification
Before building a desired QMS in your organization, you must make yourself completely aware of the requirements and specifications of ISO 9001 certification. For that, you will need to buy the standard and provide training to the relevant staff. At KCS, we look after your management system certifications and we also provide training services for internal auditor, lead auditor, or awareness training, in general. Once you have built your QMS as per the ISO 9001 standard and ensured that all your documentations are in place, it is now time for you to go for ISO 9001 certification.
- Internal audit- This is performed by a qualified staff of your organization to verify if all the documentations are in place.
- Management audit- At this stage, the management reviews your QMS, which helps in better decision-making.
- Corrective actions- From the above audits, the gaps in your management system are identified. Through appropriate corrective action plan, you can close those gaps and prepare yourself for the certification audit.
THE CERTIFICATION AUDIT :
Stage one (documentation review)- At this stage, the auditors from the certification body of your choice (e.g.- KCS) validates your documentation for its conformities to the ISO 9001 standard.
Stage two (main audit)- At this stage, the auditors check the realities by verifying your documentation against your actual processes and checking if those meet the requirements of ISO 9001 standard.
